As a UFC champion, in addition to being the owner of ATT Evolution in St. Louis, Missouri, Tyron Woodley is strapped for time. Because of this, he needed the ability to manage his gym from anywhere, at any time.
MINDBODY — a management software and merchant service provider — has given Woodley this ability and more. Here, he shares what he values most about their close partnership.
CS: How were you introduced to MINDBODY, and why did you decide to partner with them?
TW: I was introduced to MINDBODY while attending the annual MAIA Conference in Las Vegas. I decided to go with MINDBODY, because at that time I was an aspiring professional athlete and a small business owner just starting out. The merchant support and ability to access client files and appointments everywhere I go was super appealing.
CS: What are the benefits to your business as a result of this partnership?
TW: There are so many benefits with partnering with MINDBODY. One of the benefits of this partnership for myself is having the freedom to check productivity and stay connected to my business from anywhere in the world. This have proved over the last year to be very vital, due to my heavy travel schedule in and out of the country. Another benefit as a partner of MINDBODY is their passion to continually provide the most up-to-date resources for their merchant clients to grow our business and give support in doing so. For example, when the new wave of phone apps came out, MINDBODY provided its merchants with an ability to provide clients with an app to sign-up for classes, check themselves in, order product, etc. That service alone provided client growth in an already competitive field.
CS: What are the benefits to your members as a result of this partnership?
TW: Our members benefit from the app as well. It is user friendly and all of our clients raved how it allowed them freedom to sign up for classes and check on possible unused sessions during their busy schedule — all on their phone.
CS: Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with MINDBODY in any way?
TW: Yes: When a fellow fighter, Anthony Pettis, decided to open his own academy, MINDBODY went above and beyond to assist him in getting set up. When I sent over the referral, they kept me in the loop of the progress, and Pettis’ team was pleasantly surprised by all of the support and training. It made me proud to be a part of such a great company.
CS: What else can you tell other club owners about the benefits of working with MINDBODY?
TW: Customer service, merchant support and innovation makes or breaks a club, and MINDBODY helps you master those every step of the way. It’s a no brainier. Our slogan at our gym is “Training Ahead of the Curve” and MINDBODY provides merchant software and support ahead of any other merchant service.
