The non-profit group Project VisAbility is helping to facilitate the hire of qualified, physically disabled trainers by encouraging certification. This allows trainers to hold fitness classes in clubs using the Johnny G Krankcycle™ by Matrix, the latest invention from Spinning developer Johnny G. This unique piece of fitness equipment is inclusive for almost every level of physical ability, allowing members in wheelchairs to participate in full group and individual exercise programs. Instructors can lead upper-body cycling and lower-body cycling classes, or a combination of both.
Club One Fitness is one of the first health clubs to join Project VisAbility. According to Jim Karansas, Chief Fitness Officer for Club One Fitness, and the CEO and president of the Johnny G College of Knowledge, which will provide instructor education, “Club One has supported the Challenged Athletes Foundation for over ten years. Now with the Krankcycle and Project VisAbility, we look forward to hiring capable, physically challenged instructors to lead our cycling and Kranking classes.”
