The holiday season is upon us and it’s notably a busy time of year — shopping, baking, holiday parties, school plays, gift exchanges; the list goes on. However, it’s important not to start skipping out on your workout.
While it may seem like the easiest item to remove from your “To-Do List” consider what you’re gaining by going to workout:
- · Helping to stave off any holiday weight.
- · A rush of endorphins that will improve your mood.
- · Helping your immune system (no on likes to be sick for the holidays).
- · Boosting your confidence before dressing up for those parties and seeing friends and family.
- · Feeling more energized .
True, the holidays may throw a wrench into your routine, but there are still plenty of ways to squeeze in a workout.
If you travel for the holidays see if your family members’ gym has a guest pass or a holiday special for you to accompany them. If you see people dancing at a holiday party, why not join them? Seize the day that temperatures rise above freezing and go for a brisk walk around the block. Just too pressed for time, find a 10-minute workout online.
Sure you can come up a lot of excuses why you can’t workout, but try to stay committed. Wouldn’t you rather start the New Year off feeling great instead of resolving to get back to the gym?
