In my opinion, sales training is the single most important life skill one can have. It is critical to survival and, whether you know it or not, you are constantly selling something to someone. Being good at it makes life easier.
Not embracing a culture of sales at your facility is one of the largest mistakes you can make as a club operator. You absolutely must work with your staff to hone their skills. All to often we take for granted that a front desk person, janitor or personal trainer should not be proficient at sales — this is wrong.
Work with each staff member to identify who is lacking in their sales ability and pair them with a mentor within your club that can help them. Hold them accountable to learning your business, services, members and more at your facility and their natural passion for their job will grow along with their ability to sell and represent your facility well.
