The first couple months are crucial to the longevity of a member. One great tactic is to reward the member for doing what some of us may assume comes naturally but, actually doesn’t happen that much. So what is this missing piece of the retention puzzle? The member exercising regularly!
By helping our members’ come in early and often we help support our retention efforts. This can be as simple as a punch card with 20 slots to be punched based on attendance over the first 60-90 days or tasks to be completed which require involvement and activity within the facility. You can decide what they receive after they complete their card or whatever you come up with!
Once someone has completed their missions and/or comes in regularly over a few months your club has most likely become part of their routine, a bit of a habit. Hopefully, based on this new lifestyle of increased activity, they will successfully move closer to their goals. Obviously, this fact alone does more to ensure satisfaction than anything. So, mission accomplished!
