A judge certified a civil action lawsuit last week against Nautilus Fitness Center in Johnson City, Tenn. When the health club opened more than 20 years ago, it offered a special deal to increase member enrollment. The terms of deal gave members the impression they could retain their membership price for life as long as they paid a certain amount by the end of every year.
However, four years ago the club started raising rates on long-time club members. The club had signed up about 300 members under the aforementioned contract. Not all the club members know about the lawsuit, yet, but the plaintiff’s attorney, Bob King explained that his clients didn’t want to hurt the health club, they just want to pay what they had been paying since they signed up.
