Life Time Fitness plans to close in downtown St. Paul, Minn. According to TwinCities.com, the club failed to come to terms on a lease agreement with the building’s landlord.
The club has been at its location, at the University Club building on Cedar Street, for the past 13 years.
“August 13 will be the last day of operations,” Jason Thunstrom, a spokesman for Life Time Fitness, said to TwinCities.com. “The company had a strong interest in continuing to have an operation with that facility; it just simply came down to the terms of the negotiation.”
The building’s owner, John Rupp, said he plans to open a new fitness facility in the same place in November.
