The American Council on Exercise (ACE) will be hosting its 5th Annual ACE Fitness Symposium in San Diego, Calif. on Nov. 3-6, 2010.
ACE’s symposium is designed to educate and inspire fitness professionals of all levels in a unique and intimate setting. This year, they will be offering various classes and workshops, showcasing the latest in exercise programming, sports conditioning, functional training, group fitness, nutrition and working with special populations.
A few highlights on this year’s agenda:
- ACE’s 25th Anniversary – ACE is excited to be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, there will be updates on the organization’s newest initiatives and collaborations, as well as discussions on what America’s authority on fitness has in store for the coming year.
- Senior VP of the NBA’s Orlando Magic, Pat Williams will be the keynote speaker on Thursday, November 4, and will discuss how to become the “Michael Jordan” of your industry, during which he will offer practical steps that can enhance your focus, passions and work ethic.
- Cedric X. Bryant, Ph.D., ACE’s chief science officer will be speaking on Thursday, November 4, about key ACE-sponsored studies, including those conducted on exergaming, kettlebells, Krankcycles, the most effective ab exercises and more.
- Shellie Pfhol, executive director of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, will speak on Thursday, November 5, about the childhood obesity epidemic and how the public can join a movement to help get our kids active and healthy.
