The Les Mills Ultimate Studio Search in conjunction with “Club Business International” is searching for the most inspirational group fitness studios to highlight great design and hopefully raise standards across the industry.
Nominations open and can be made by club managers, owners, instructors or members.
Les Mills’ Chief Executive Phillip Mills, hopes this search will highlight facilities the rest can aspire to.
“Group exercise is one of the most powerful potential ways for us to grow and retain membership, but it needs to happen in a fun, social space,” he said. “For some bizarre reason, most studios feel more like operating theatres or medical labs, instead of somewhere that makes you want to dance.”
The two best facilities, in the judges’ eyes, will win seven-day trips for two to Auckland, New Zealand, home of Les Mills International. The trip will include a tour and use of the Les Mills World of Fitness facilities, and a vineyard excursion to Waiheke Island, New Zealand.
A panel of four judges will decide the winners. The judges are: Phillip Mills, the chief executive for Les Mills, Rudy Fabiano, the president and director of Fabiano Designs, Donna Cyrus, the senior vice president of programming for Crunch Fitness and Scott Jeffrey, the design forum chief creative officer for Interbrand.
The contest closes on April 15 and any group fitness studio worldwide is eligible to win, regardless of whether the facility uses Les Mills programming.
Anyone nominating a studio enters a drawing for 20 LES MILLS® clothing vouchers worth $50.
