Les Mills International is pleased to announce the appointment of Steven Renata as CEO of Les Mills West Coast Inc., San Francisco, Calif.
Renata was most recently the global sales director for the Les Mills group, responsible for developing sales systems, training and account management to support the Les Mills system globally. He is an original shareholder in Les Mills International, and was one of the company’s founding employees at its inception in 1995.
“I am really excited to take on this role, and feel very fortunate to be championing group exercise in the United States at a time when group exercise is at the tipping point of a huge expansion,” said Renata. “Les Mills has a proven exercise system that gets results both for members who take our classes, and for the clubs and health facilities who use our programs to grow their attendance and membership. It’s my aim to ensure Les Mills West Coast delivers an outstanding group fitness experience every time, everywhere.”
Renata received a Master of Commerce degree from the University of Otago, New Zealand. On the fitness front, he is a former New Zealand rugby player and Ironman triathlete. In 1999, Steven set the Guinness World Record for indoor stationary cycling.
“The fitness industry has moved well beyond ‘aerobics’ to tap into the potential and social power of group exercise,” said Renata. “Simple concepts can create big breakthroughs on health, obesity and social isolation, and I am totally committed to doing that in the U.S.”
