Top Line, a functional training gym in Milwaukee, Wis. has extended the opportunity for local residents to lose five pounds at Top Line for free — residents can work with a personal trainer and receive nutritional counseling and advice, with no obligation to sign up for a membership afterwards.
Part of the Biggest Loser Challenge, owners Josh Delaney and Brett Summers created the promotion as a way to promote their facility to Milwaukee residents. A small gym, the club is equipped with ropes, sledgehammers, tractor tires and other functional equipment in place of cardio and strength training equipment.
By utilizing Top Line’s functional equipment, the gym had a number of members lose 100 pounds or more. The promotion is the club’s first major marketing campaign, to market the club’s success it has seen with members so far. “We’ve had great results,” said Delaney. “We figured, what better way to bring on a new client base?”
The promotion is available to anyone, however Delaney and Summers hope to help people who have 50 pounds or more to lose. “Anyone can come in, but we really want to help people who are intimated by training at regular gyms,” explained Delaney. “Some people are afraid of working out with other people, in front of other people, and we want to serve them.”
Josh called the Milwaukee area, “The land of beer and cheese,” and hopes the promotion will resonate with residents hoping to lose weight. “We thought, what can we do to get the attention of the city? We’ll give you everything you need to be successful.”
