Point of Sale Referrals

Are you asking for referrals at point of sale? If not, you are missing out on a lot of leads and potential members. The point of sale is the best place to ask for referrals! A new member is excited about getting started and can be bribed pretty easily for a few names and numbers if they can get something a little extra.

What if you gave a t-shirt to all new members that gave you four names and numbers at the point of sale?  If we got 25 new members to give us four names and numbers that is 100 leads to work! Do you think you could sell at least one membership out of those 100? I would say everyone reading this could.

Now lets look at the cost of those 100 leads. We can get cheap t-shirts for about $5 these days. Now, you have 25 new members wearing your shirt and advertising in public, and for $125 we got 100 leads! That is a little over $1 per lead. That’s pretty cheap marketing!  If you don’t have a POS referral system already in place, today is the day to start!
