ACSM recently released its worldwide survey of fitness trends for 2016. What trend landed the top spot for the first time ever? Unsurprisingly, in light of Fitbit’s successful IPO and other tech news, wearables are at number one.

According to ACSM, wearable technology is noteworthy due to its potential — it’s predicted wearables will be a $6 billion industry by 2016.
