The California Task Force on Youth and Workplace Wellness has honored 71 employers with the 2009 Fit Business Awards. Each winner was presented with a Gold, Silver, Bronze or Honorable Mention award by California State Senator Alex Padilla, chair of the Task Force on Youth and Workplace Wellness.
The Fit Business Award was developed to increase the awareness among employers concerning the connection between health and a return on investment. The seven organizations that received Gold Medals for their commitment to employees were:

- Bentley Prince Street
- County of Ventura
- DES Architects + Engineers
- McDonough Holland & Allen PC
- Safeway Inc.
