This One is Not a Keeper

I have provided a ton of tips on keeping your members, but here is a new twist. When is it okay to let someone go, or even ask them to leave? Sure, in today’s market we want everybody we can get. Understand though that there are members who actually hurt your business.

Some examples would be the weight-dropper, the pick-up artist, the yeller, the thief and the bad attitude. Obviously, there are others, but each one of these types are fairly common and for the purpose of simplicity, self-explanatory.

With the exception of the thief, you may want to give the troubled members a chance to change their ways. However, if there is someone staring at the women in the gym or the lady who complains about everything to everybody then spreads ill will among the other members, you might keep more members by cutting the bad apples loose.
