Wherever you stand on the contract issue in your club, a good retention program does not rely on contractual obligation. The idea is to keep someone committed to your club by virtue of their satisfaction — not the terms of their contract agreement.
In my opinion, it makes sense for most fitness businesses to have term agreements in place, but we should always treat our clients as if they could walk out the door tomorrow without any negative repercussions from their club. Except for the repercussion that they will no longer get to exercise and obtain desired results in the most well-run, friendly, supportive and fun environment in town!
