Fitness franchises made a nice impact on Entrepreneur Magazine’s 2012 Top 500 Franchise list. The big move coming from Anytime Fitness that moved up from number 18 to number 11, just outside of cracking the top 10.
The top 10 on the list included such big name franchises as Hampton Hotels, Subway, 7-Eleven Inc., Servpro, Days Inn, McDonald’s, Denny’s Inc., H & R Block, Pizza Hut Inc. and Dunkin’ Donuts.
“Considering the reputation and status of the other franchises ranked in the top 10, including Subway, McDonalds and Hampton Hotels, this is a tremendous honor for Anytime Fitness,” said Chuck Runyon, the CEO and co-founder of Anytime Fitness. “We’re especially pleased for our franchisees who work so hard to build their own businesses while helping their members lead healthier lifestyles. With our continued expansion plans including growth internationally we’re looking forward to muscling our way into the ‘Franchise 500’ top 10 next year.”
Anytime Fitness wasn’t the only club to crack the top 500. Snap Fitness found its way onto the list with number 36, then Planet Fitness at number 76, Gold’s gym at 192 and Retro Fitness at 217.
