Octane Fitness, LLC has equipped its xRide seated elliptical machine with Octane’s exclusive Embedded Touch Screen. According to Octane, this adds a multitude of entertainment options and workout feedback for greater motivation and performance to the bike’s riding experience. The new xR6000Touch debuted at the Club Industry Expo at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Equipped with the Intel® Atom™ processor and an integrated 15.6-inch-wide LCD screen powered by Netpulse™, the Embedded Touch Screen offers live TV and iPhone® and iPod® compatibility. As a result of this compatibility, the screen gives users access to Netpulse’s library of thousands of on-demand TV shows and music videos, movie trailers, news and sports content, Virtual Active™ and the ability to create free custom playlists on the spot.
“The Embedded Touch Screen brings workouts to an entirely new level, and gives xRide users so many great choices in entertainment and exercise information,” said Tim Porth, the executive vice president of product development and marketing at Octane Fitness.
In addition to customized entertainment, the easy-to-use Embedded Touch Screen showcases live workout statistics, with a choice of several views, including simple, bar chart, heart rate active graph and tracking. Its exclusive split-screen design simultaneously displays entertainment and workout data, so exercisers can easily track intensity without having to toggle between screens.
Users also can track workouts, create and edit entertainment playlists and adjust personal preferences on any Octane elliptical by creating an account through Netpulse. The console is ANT+ compatible, linking with Garmin® watches and heart rate monitor straps, as well as other ANT+ devices, which all seamlessly upload to Garmin Connect™, Training Peaks™, Map My Run and many other fitness tracking sites.
The lower-body-only xR5000 also can be equipped with the Embedded Touch Screen, which rounds out Octane’s full-line offering of seated and standing (Pro4700 and Pro3700) elliptical machines with touch screen options.
