Spinning® announced that it has launched a new certification program centered around the Star Trac Spinner® Blade ION — the Spinpower™ Instructor Certification.
By incorporating power-based training within the Spinning program, official Spinning facilities will be able to provide members with incredible benefits through the new certification, including science-based training principles for individual weight loss, fitness and performance goals. In addition, individualized training programs using the Personal Spinning Threshold (PST) Test and Spinpower Zones, high-quality, power-oriented Spinning classes built around effective, individualized program design and post-ride data analysis will be made available. Furthermore, instructors will be able to measure, track, evaluate and maximize progress like never before.
“Spinpower will bring members to the next level, by mastering the science of health, fitness and performance, utilizing the same strain-gauge power meter technology that was once available only to elite-level cyclists,” said Angie Sturtevant, the Spinpower program director and a Power Specialist Master Instructor. “The Spinner Blade ION offers the only true and precise measurement of the real effort a rider puts in, and constantly displays the biometric feedback during the ride. This data keeps riders excited about exercise and motivates them to do the work to achieve their goals. Spinpower also allows riders to see an accurate display of the calories they’ve burned, which pushes riders to achieve their goals of weight loss, fitness or improved cycling performance.”
Additionally, program participants can become part of a team of over 200,000 certified Spinning instructors and over 35,000 facilities and studios that are dedicated to delivering a life-changing program to fitness enthusiasts and cyclists worldwide.
