Vivafit, a women’s-only fitness franchise, recently opened a new location in New Delhi, India, bringing the total number of Vivafit gyms in the country to five. The new club is located in the GK2 Mblock Market of New Delhi.
“Vivafit is an excellent fit for India because our program is very welcoming for women to start an exercise program, as well as with enough variety of group fitness classes to keep the regular exercisers engaged also,” said Constance Ruiz, the president and co-founder of the franchise. “Also, as a women’s-only gym, there is ‘approval’ from the husbands, as that can be an issue for some married women in India.”
Vivafit, based in Portugal, is known for its dedication to fulfilling women’s fitness needs. The gym’s specialty includes 30-minute workouts known as “Express Work Outs.”
An atmosphere of fun and excitement is what sets the club apart from others women’s-only franchises in the industry, according to Ruiz. However, working out isn’t the only “fun” part of Vivafit. The gym’s goal is to make healthy eating and fitness education something women in India want to participate in as well.
“Our group fitness service delivery (sets us apart), which is very results-focused, starting with how the classes are ‘prescribed,’ as well as how the instructors must deliver. Offerings include a grand offering of fun and effective classes like Body Vive, Shbam and Body Balance. Recently we have created a unique platform that assists a nutritionist to provide eating plans for our members and continues to accompany them during six months of lifestyle change, helping our members lose more weight faster, and keep it off.”
The New Delhi location will help launch the newest Les Mills Certified Fitness Program, BODY VIVE. At the gym’s official launching, a demonstration of BODY VIVE was given by Vivafit trainers, giving prospects an idea of what the health club is all about. Trainers also demonstrated Zumba and circuit training, which will be offered at the new location.
Vivafit is not yet finished expanding in India. According to Ruiz, the plan now is to continue expansion of the Vivafit brand throughout the country.
“Now that we have three Masters and five centers open, we are expecting an acceleration of the Vivafit brand through franchising that will allow us to be the leader of women’s-only gyms in India,” she told Club Solutions. “The next step is for our Masters to learn to service their franchisees as they start to grow the brand.”
