The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) has predicted the top 20 fitness trends for 2014, based on a survey of more than 3,800 fitness professionals.
Per the survey’s results, the top 10 trends for 2014 include:
1. High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
2. Body Weight Training
3. Educated and Experienced Fitness Professionals
4. Strength Training
5. Exercise and Weight Loss
6. Personal Training
7. Fitness Programs for Older Adults
8. Functional Fitness
9. Group Personal Training
10. Yoga
In 2012, ACSM’s predictions of the top 10 fitness trends for 2013 included:
1. Educated, Certified and Experienced Fitness Professionals
2. Strength Training
3. Body Weight Training
4. Children and Obesity
5. Exercise and Weight Loss
6. Fitness Programs for Older Adults
7. Personal Training
8. Functional Fitness
9. Core Training
10. Group Personal Training
