Arnold Schwarzenegger surprised members of Gold’s Gym in Venice, Calif. recently. The famous ex-Governor and former bodybuilder went undercover, wearing a mustache and wig, and posed as a GM going by the name of Howard Kleiner.
As Kleiner, Schwarzenegger proceeded to walk around the gym and give unsolicited fitness advice to unsuspecting members.
The prank wasn’t for pure publicity. Instead, Schwarzenegger went undercover to raise awareness for the After-School All-Stars (ASAS) program. According to ASAS, its mission is to provide comprehensive after-school programs that keep children safe and help them succeed in school and life.
Schwarzenegger is listed as the founder of ASAS, which got its start in 1991 in Los Angeles. To date, he serves as honorary chair of the board.
Donors who donate to ASAS on Omaze.com before January 31, 2014, will be entered to win an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ride in a tank with Schwarzenegger himself. Schwarzenegger will match every dollar donated as part of the campaign.
