The team at Star Trac set out to create a one-of-a-kind plate loaded strength equipment experience with features designed to outshine the competition. The Star Trac Leverage® line utilizes multiple levers and cams to create a unique lifting profile for each movement that is designed to maximize and match the mechanics of the human body. Other design features like smaller foot print, integrated plate storage and lower load points for safe use, offer appealing points for users.

There are eight total pieces of equipment in the Star Trac plate loaded, Leverage® line that focus on the upper body. Those pieces include: Chest Press, Incline Press, Decline Press, Lat Pulldown, High Row, Low Row, Shoulder Press and the Biceps Curl, The lower body features Angled Leg Press, Hack Squat, Tilt Seat Calf, Incline Lever Row.

For our review we took a look at three pieces in the Leverage® Line – the Chest Press, Lat Pulldown and Shoulder Press.

Chest Press Features and Specifications

  • Stainless steel knurled grips
  • A maximum capacity of 270 lbs can be placed on each side, per arm for a total of 540 lbs.
  • Starting resistance on the chest press is 18 lbs per arm.
  • Unilateral independent arm motion.
  • Unilateral arms adjust for starting positions for all sizes of users.
  • Gas shock assisted seat adjustment.
  • The Leverage® line has a one of a kind lever and cam system for optimum biomechanics.
  • Adding weight to the chest press is simple with the low load points. This allows for safe and simple use.
  • The plate storage is located on the side of this machine. Weight plates are sold separately.
  • The Leverage line chest press has a total weight of 600 lbs, it measure 59 inches wide by 71 inches long by 58 inches high.

Lat Pulldown Features and Specifications

  • Stainless steel knurled grips
  • Maximum capacity of 270 lbs can be placed on each side, per arm for a total of 540 lbs.
  • Starting resistance 5 lbs per arm.
  • Lat Pulldown has unilateral independent arm motion.
  • The Lat Pulldown has a diverging motion with a close grip start position.
  • Adding weight to the Lat Pulldown is simple with the low load points. This allows for safe and simple use.
  • The plate storage is located on the side of this machine. Weight plates are sold separately.
  • The Leverage line Lat Pulldown has a total weight of 550 lbs, it measures 50.5 inches wide by 80.7 inches long by 80.1 inches high.

Shoulder Press Features and Specifications

  • Stainless steel knurled grips
  • Maximum capacity of 270 lbs can be placed on each side, per arm for a total of 540 lbs. with a Starting resistance of 15 lbs per arm.
  • Unilateral independent arm motion in case a user would like to do one arm at a time.
  • Shoulder Press has a converging motion when the exercise is being performed.
  • Gas shock assisted seat adjustment.
  • Adding weight to the shoulder press is simple with the low load points. This allows for safe and simple use.
  • The plate storage is located on the side of this machine. Weight plates are sold separately.
  • The Leverage Shoulder Press has a total weight of 540 lbs, it measures 50.5 inches wide by 71 inches long by 57.9 inches high.

Warranty Information:

Star Trac warrants all framework for a period of 10 years. This limited warranty on structural frame does not include coatings. The following moving parts are warranted for 5 years; rotary bearings, weight stacks, pulleys, guide rods, and structural moving parts. 90 dayson upholstery stitching and items not specified.
