Stone Creek Club & Spa in Covington, Louisiana, has been awarded the prestigious “Tammany Award” for business of the year by the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce.
The Tammany Award is awarded to businesses that contribute to local economic development and that improve their local communities. Stone Creek Club & Spa employs 200 staff members, and boasts annual revenues up to $7 million.
In addition, each year the club supports both national and local causes, including Augie’s Quest, The Rich Mauti Cancer Fund, Operation Homefront, the Wounded Warrior Project and much more. In fact, general manager Larry Conner was recently asked to join the Augie’s Quest Fitness Industry Advisory Council, after Stone Creek raised $35,000 for the non-profit.
“Nine years after their opening day, Stone Creek continues to enjoy growth in members, revenues and payroll … but it’s not the business statistics that make them worthy [of the award],” said chamber president Lacey Toledano, in a statement. “It’s their dedication to their members, the community, the fitness industry and to the well-being of our country that make them deserving.”
Stone Creek Club & Spa boasts a 52,000-square-foot facility sitting on a 14-acre campus. Amenities include: salt-water lap pool and resort pool, spa, outdoor fitness trail, basketball court, four group fitness studios, adult-only locker rooms, 15 tennis courts, childcare, full-service cafe and more.
The club has received accolades including “Best Health Club,” “Best Tennis Courts” and “Best Day Spa” each of the last 4 years.
“The entire Stone Creek team is inspired by the lives we touch through our everyday efforts and our charity endeavors,” said Stephanie Coulon, the marketing manager for Stone Creek, in a statement. “We celebrate with members who achieve their weight loss or fitness goals through the club. We are moved by the military veterans who thank us for our annual ‘Salute Our Soldiers’ flag display. We are humbled by the gratitude we receive from local cancer survivors who appreciate our participation in their fundraising campaigns. We feel fortunate to be an integral part of the community we love, and we are honored to receive this year’s Tammany Award.”
