Improving Member Experience at Crunch Fitness through seca TRU

As Crunch Fitness continuously grows, the corporate office is always looking for ways to help franchisees stand out to potential members. To do this, it recently partnered with seca TRU and brought its body composition scanning products to various branches. Ron Alterio, the vice president of personal training for Crunch Fitness, explained how these products supplement the gyms’ offerings, and the ease of working with a company that understands and supports their goal of helping members live healthier lives.

“When we’re looking for a particular product or service to enhance the brand, elevate member experience, and help our dedicated franchisees compete and win in hypercompetitive markets, we look for two things,” said Alterio. “First, is the product best in class? How have seca TRU’s products benefited your members?

Our members are more educated than ever before. They want access to goal-centered data that’s both accurate and fast. When it comes to this, seca TRU offers the gold standard in accuracy and eliminates many of the ease-of-use obstacles associated with other bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) solutions on the market. With seca TRU, there are no private rooms to build out, no restrictive dress requirements, and the scanning process is simple and quick. The actual measurement takes about 24 seconds. The product allows us to meet our members where they are and deliver real-time data that truly enhances their experience at Crunch.

How has the partnership with seca TRU benefited your business? What value does it add?

One of the things that separates Crunch from other gyms is our approach and dedication to our members’ success. Industry data tells us 60% of all members will quit due to an inadequate onboarding experience. That’s why we offer every member our exclusive CrunchONE Kickoff. This is a 60-minute appointment with one of our nationally certified trainers where we help each new member set clear and specific goals and then provide a personalized roadmap to reach those goals. This roadmap even comes with a 3D model of what the member will look like once they’ve achieved those goals. Part of this process is creating baseline measurements, and seca TRU has worked with us to fully integrate the BIA results into our CrunchONE Kickoff protocol to create a more seamless member experience. For our members who do enlist the services of a personal trainer, seca TRU allows us to provide ongoing, accurate and meaningful data on a consistent basis to help drive greater results and extend the lifespan of each personal training client.

How would you describe seca TRU’s customer service and support?

We have used other BIA solutions in the past and when it comes to customer support seca TRU stands head and shoulders above the rest.
