UPDOWN Helps Members Get the Most Out of a Membership

Oftentimes members join a gym, and unless they have a personal trainer, get no support in their fitness journey. Here Rebecca Liggon, the co-owner of The Fit, explained how UPDOWN helped them provide the support their members needed to be successful.

CS: How were you introduced to UPDOWN and why did you decide to partner with them?

RL: I read about UPDOWN in our local newspaper. The timing was perfect. We had been looking for a way to bring great workouts to our customers without increasing our workload or workforce. UPDOWN is literally just that.

CS: What benefit has this partnership brought to your business?

RL: Customers often join a gym without knowing how to use it. Then, in a few months they get discouraged and leave the gym. UPDOWN helps even the experienced customers get the most out of their gym. This in turn, helps us keep our customers around longer, which drives our revenue higher.

CS: What benefit has this partnership brought to your members?

RL: UPDOWN allows all our customers to have their own “personal trainer.” It is so easy to get started with and super easy to use. There have been no obstacles for customers and they are seeing more benefits from their workouts because they actually do a workout that makes sense for them.

CS: How have you successfully implemented UPDOWN at your club (keys to success)?

RL: UPDOWN is so easy to get started with that it didn’t take much to get members interested.  Letting members know how personalized UPDOWN is and that they can take their favorite workouts with them when they travel has been important.

CS: What else can you tell club owners about the benefits of working with UPDOWN?

RL: There are a lot of companies offering to personalize apps to gyms. Those apps personalize in terms of logo and aesthetics and don’t bring a lot of value to the gym member. UPDOWN is personalized to the gym, and to a larger extent, to the member/end user. To us, that is who we want the app for. If you want an app that adds to the services you already offer, UPDOWN is the app for you.

The guys at UPDOWN are super responsive to questions, concerns, feedback, etc. The app is, again, really easy, so it doesn’t require a lot of interaction with the company. The app runs smoothly and is self-explanatory.
