Consider a Colorful New Exercise Program for your Members

What are you doing for your members this holiday season? Have you considered making them feel appreciated by updating your current programming with the launch of a new group exercise program?

Create excitement in your studios by adding Colorgized Belly Dancing to the schedule for January 2007. Dance classes are filling studios because they provide cardio respiratory benefits, they burn calories, and they are just plain FUN!

Belly Dancing
What is belly dancing and why is it gaining in popularity? Belly dancing is a free flow of movement and energy through the body. It was created as way to empower women, allow them to express themselves, vitalize their internal and external organs as well as to provide physical activity. Belly dancing provides a holistic approach toward well-being by integrating the spiritual and physical components of exercise.

Belly dancing focuses on celebrating the beauty each woman has now, not what society feels she should portray, and it is a very positive influence to have as part of any group exercise curriculum. Belly dancing provides a safe environment where muscles in the legs, arms, and waist can become toned along with the smaller underlying muscles that rarely get used.

Aside from the physical, visible changes to the body derived from belly dance, there is a health component to the dancing. Being well means having a healthy cardiovascular system. This type of exercise provides aerobic benefits such as increased overall energy and a stronger immune system.

Finally, belly dancing is good for the joints of the body. It is a low impact activity that constantly shifts the weight from leg to leg so that there is no stress to the body, keeping it free from injury.

Chakra Energy
Chakras are energy centers in the body long associated with yoga. Each chakra has a color associated with it as well as life issues. For example, in your solar plexus center (pancreas) the color is yellow, the element is fire and the issues are self esteem, will power, confidence and the ability to achieve your dreams and goals. By working on just that energy center, your members will focus on their core muscles and their mind will focus on affirmations such as “I am confident” and “I have the power to change what I need to change.” These are powerful influences in someone’s life and the combination of all the Colorgized factors make for a very impacting, come-back-again experience. By educating your members about chakras and energy centers, you are actually assisting them in finding the tools to increase tranquility, energy and vitality.

In tangible terms, each chakra or energy center correlates to major nerve ganglia branching forth from the spinal column as well as glands of the endocrine system. The glands affected by chakra work from the top, and working down the spinal column are the pituitary, pineal, thyroid, thymus, pancreas, adrenals and reproductive glands.

Colorgized Belly Dancing
The latest addition to the Colorgized class formats is Colorgized Belly Dancing. This is an energizing, fun way to show your members that you are looking to bring innovative programming into your facility in order to make their experience the best possible. Colorgized Wellness is the incorporation of colorchanging lighting and mental focus on the individual energy centers of the body via affirmations and movements. The Colorgized Belly Dance class is a great cardio workout; a release of the day’s stress; a way to express oneself without inhibitions or restrictions, and it offers meditative benefits of slowing down the active mind.

Your studio lighting will flow through the seven colors of the rainbow as your members experience the physical and emotional affect color has on them – creating a memorable experience they will share with their friends. Affirmations will empower them to feel better about themselves and create the life they desire.
