The National Aging in Place Council (NAIPC) announced Aging in Place Week 2009. The week that began on Monday Oct. 12 and will run through Oct. 18, has been developed to celebrate America’s seniors.
To commemorate this event, groups of service providers across the country are planning educational and entertaining events to help seniors age comfortable and healthfully in their homes. “Our goal is to provide one-stop-shopping for seniors who have problems and are searching for help,” said Marty Bell of the NAIPC. “This new site (launched Oct. 14) is designed to make it as easy as possible for seniors to find the services they need.
NAIPC is comprised of healthcare professionals, home accessibility consultants, in-home care specialists, interior designers, home remodelers, real estate professionals, insurance providers, elder law attorneys, financial planners, reverse mortgage officers, lifestyle transition servicers and various public and non-profit organizations.
