SAN RAMON, Calif. — 24 Hour Fitness has announced that the company will appear in The Celebrity Apprentice; airing on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. 24 Hour Fitness will provide fitness expertise and guidance to the contestants as they compete to bring in the most donations for the charity of their choice and another shot at becoming the next Celebrity Apprentice.
24 Hour Fitness is also featured on NBC’s popular reality TV show, “The Biggest Loser.” Similar to some of the fitness-oriented challenges seen on The Biggest Loser, the company will host an exercise-themed competition in Manhattan; this time changing things up Trump-style with a business twist. During the episode, two 24 Hour Fitness Team Members, Shaun McGeahy and Micki Stary, will counsel the contestants to help each team develop and implement their respective business plans. To conclude the episode, Ingrid Owen, the vice president of Group Fitness for 24 Hour Fitness, and Linda McHugh, the manager of Group Fitness Programs, will help Donald Trump and his advisors determine the winning team of the evening.
“We are excited to be featured on a show like the Celebrity Apprentice that not only highlights 24 Hour Fitness’ expertise in the health and fitness industry, but also gives back to the community through charitable donations by the winning teams,” said Tony Wells, the executive vice president and CMO for 24 Hour Fitness.
The upcoming episode will feature seven celebrity contestants as they battle to win and raise money for each of their designated charities. Celebrity contestants in the running towards The Celebrity Apprentice include: Pop Star, Cyndi Lauper, Sharon Osbourne of “America’s Got Talent”, Bret Michaels of “Rock of Love”, actress Holly Robinson Peete, wrestler, Maria Kanellis, Australian Celebrity Chef, Curtis Stone and Olympian, Summer Sanders.
