Planet Fitness has signed a 15-year lease for a 14,000-square-foot club in Fairfield, Ohio. The club is the first of and estimated several more Planet Fitness clubs to enter the greater Cincinnati area.
“They [Planet Fitness] have a desire to grow from an entry level position,” said Charlie Pond, the director of building and development for Neyer Properties. “They’re looking at six or eight or even more in the greater Cincinnati and Dayton area. For us, that was a relationship we wanted to form.”
Planet Fitness owner John Clancy believed it’s the atmosphere of Planet Fitness that has set it apart from other gyms.
“We have top-of-the-line strength and cardio equipment, along with elliptical machines, treadmills and tanning booths and beds,” he said. Planet Fitness is scheduled to open in September.
The addition is just one part of a redevelopment project between the city of Fairfield and Neyer Properties to improve Fairfield’s Town Center.
