I know some are thinking, “Improvements? I can’t afford improvements.” Yes you can! An improvement can be as simple as a bucket or two of paint to paint the locker rooms a different color. Or an improvement could just be the $30 accessory your members have been asking for.
I was working in a club and signed a new member from the competitor because they would not buy a new jump rope for the members. If my memory serves me right, I signed this member for a year, and she stayed the whole year with us. She paid us $30 per month for a total of $360. The competitor lost $360 over a $20 item. All I can say is the jump rope I bought was a good investment!
This is just the one member that we knew about. There may be three or four other members that just didn’t want to speak up. So, in reality that $20 jump rope might have cost the competitor over $1,000 in revenue for the year.
Improvements don’t always have to cost thousands of dollars. A lot of times it’s the simple things like a jump rope that will keep someone a member at your club. The next time one of your members asks for a $20 accessory for the Cable Crossover, just go buy it. Your bottom line will appreciate it.
