Sport&Health announced the addition of three senior personnel to its company: Adam Wharton, director of personal training; Mindy Pierce, director of programming; and Marta Wallace, corporate wellness manager.

“Identifying and recruiting top level team players is a vital component to helping any growth-oriented company successfully move forward, but ensuring they fit the corporate culture and work ethic is a rare treat in business,” said Mark Fisher, Sport&Health’s President and COO. “I have every confidence that Adam Wharton, Mindy Pierce and Marta Wallace will more than exceed our expectations at Sport&Health.”

Adam Wharton

Adam Wharton, the director of personal training, will drive personal training revenue, streamline personal training business practices and will develop and recruit personal trainers for Sport&Health. Adam will assist Mitch Batkin, the senior vice president of fitness, in managing the multi-million dollar personal training budget for 2011.

Wharton, formerly a national director of personal training with Bally Total Fitness, will continue to serve on the Certification Advisory Council for the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Corporate Educational Representative. He received his BA in English and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and maintains his NASM-CPT, PES, CES; CrossFit Level I; Level I Battling Ropes Coach Certifications.

Mindy Pierce

As director of programming at Sport&Health, Mindy Pierce will plan and execute all paid programs for the company. Pierce, formerly with American Family Fitness, Chevron North America & Town Sports International, has extensive experience educating staff and driving various revenue streams.

Graduating from Virginia Tech with a BS in Human Nutrition, Food and Exercise, Pierce remains active with many certification organizations, including ACSM, ACE, LeMond, STOTT Pilates and BodyCombat™.

Marta Wallace

Marta Wallace, the corporate wellness manager, will foster relationships within Sport&Health’s local communities and corporations. These relationships will allow corporate partnerships that will allow Sport&Health to showcase their corporate wellness packages, as well as the “Sport&Health Better Living Network.”

Starting her professional career in the TV & film industry, Wallaces’s sales and advertising experience includes integral roles Tarara Winery, Loudoun Convention & Visitor Center and Loudoun Times-Mirror.
