Athletic Revolution and Fitness Revolution, two franchises owned by parent company Fitness Consulting Group in Elizabethtown, Ky. have launched “Revolution for a Cause,” a nationwide charity campaign running through June 30, 2012.
The campaign is organized so that each individual franchisee has the opportunity to raise funds for the charity of their choice, with the goal of raising $50,000 total. Conducted on a volunteer basis, so far over 30 franchisees have participated. With 19 days into the event, participants have raised over $14,000, said Nick Berry, the president and co-owner of Fitness Consulting Group.
“It’s something that most franchisees were doing on their own. We just really wanted to organize it to create a more united format for them to follow,” said Berry.
Franchisees have picked a multitude of different charities to donate to, including the Make a Wish Foundation, the American Cancer Society, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Autism Speak, the Epilepsy Association and Bikes for Tikes.
“For us, it really fits well for the franchisees we have because they want to help people, change lives and make an impact. All we had to do was step in and help organize it.”
So far, franchisees are expected to meet, and possibly exceed the $50,000 goal.
“At this point we’re 19 days in and we didn’t expect it to really take off until May,” said Berry. “Nothing would make me happier than to double that [$50,000] number.”
Franchisees will be rewarded with prizes from vendors for reaching their benchmark goals. A paid expense vacation will be given to the overall top fundraiser as a grand prize.
