Known for its unique blend of “grit and glamour,” David Barton Gym will open its newest location at Rockrose’s The Archive in lower Manhattan, New York City, this fall. With multiple locations in New York City, Miami, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, “David Barton Gym was built on the premise that every aspect of life should be extraordinary,” said Howard Brodsky, the CEO of David Barton Gym.
“David Barton decided to open at The Archive to expand our presence in lower Manhattan and bring the glamour of the David Barton Gym brand to the neighborhood,” explained Brodsky. “Our landlord at Rockrose was really looking for an upscale fitness partner and believed we were the perfect fit.”
According to Patricia Dunphy, the senior vice president at Rockrose, David Barton Gym is one of the most upscale and creative fitness brands today. “Its concept and approach to fitness has been a driving force in its industry, and we’re pleased to welcome it as a tenant at The Archive,” said Dunphy. “The performance-driven approach taken by this gym fits the creative, energetic style of the surrounding West Village area, and we are confident that it will be successful here.”
David Barton’s new location will occupy a total of 12,950 square feet — 7,650 square feet on the ground floor and 5,300 square feet in the basement.
It’s the unconventional, glamorous designs that have put David Barton Gym on the health and fitness club map. “By challenging the status quo, your imagination can guide you to places you didn’t know were possible,” said Brodsky. “By focusing on goals and results, you can visualize where you want to be and who you want to become. We believe there should be no barriers and that limitations are only things we create with our own minds.”
This theory will be utilized at the new Archive location. “As always, we incorporate the feel of the neighborhood, stay true to the architectural beauty of the building, and give our members something totally different than they could get anywhere else,” said Brodsky.
Although there are key design traits featured at each gym, “no two [locations] are the same,” said Brodsky. “The lighting, the attention to detail, the layout of the gym floor, and the luxurious locker rooms will all remind you that you are in a David Barton Gym, but the uniqueness of each gym is what makes us special. There is nothing ‘cookie cutter’ about any of our locations.”
The new David Barton Gym location will house state-of-the-art equipment, studios designed specifically for yoga, Pilates, group exercise and cycling, international DJs, “endless amenities, and a team of expertly-trained staff,” said Brodsky. Group exercise will also offer gym “signatures,” such as Pain and Pleasure, Junk, Barton Biking and Muscle Playground — original and exclusive classes all taught by the gym’s own private trainers.
According to Brodsky, David Barton Gyms are special because “we build gyms for the members.” As working out is a choice, “we provide gym-goers with a welcoming environment, an amazing vibe and stay close to their fitness goals,” he said. “Our staff is there to provide support and encouragement and always make sure that our members are achieving results.”
