World Gym announced that it will open two franchise locations in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in September, 2013. Both locations were previously independent fitness centers that will reopen as World Gym clubs. The two clubs will be the first World Gyms to open in Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Badr Al-Shibani is the franchisee of the new locations, who decided to convert his independent clubs to the iconic brand. “I am dedicated to providing the ultimate, non-intimidating fitness experience to the people of Saudi Arabia,” said Al-Shibani, in a statement. “I want to help people cultivate a healthy lifestyle, to feel important and enjoy their daily workout so they will be motivated to come to the gym. I made the decision to convert both locations to World Gym because it is a highly respected, world-renowned brand that will help me reach these objectives.”
Jeddah residents will enjoy an array of amenities typical to a World Gym facility, including top-of-the-line equipment from Technogym, gym80 and Freemotion Fitness, group exercise classes, a steam room and sauna, personal training, a smoothie bar and more.

World Gym intends to fully support his initiative.”
This isn’t World Gym’s first foray overseas. World Gyms can be found in 13 countries outside of the U.S., including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, India, Russia and Taiwan.
