UFC GYM® announced that it will open a second signature location in Hawaii in partnership with former two-division UFC champion BJ Penn. The newest UFC GYM BJ Penn will serve Waipahu, Hawaii, and began enrolling members on September 24, 2013. It is set to open in early 2014.
“I’m excited to partner with UFC GYM to open another location so soon after the successful opening of our first Oahu gym nearly two years ago,” said BJ Penn, in a news release. “We wanted to expand on the West side of the island to continue to share our workouts and lifestyle that have proven successful not only for our members, but for me, personally, as well as many of the world’s most elite UFC athletes.”
Like other UFC GYM signature locations, the 30,000-square-foot facility will feature a 30-foot Octagon, Brazilian jiu-jitsu studio, bag room, top-of-the-line strength training and cardio machines, battling ropes, agility ladders, functional training equipment and signature UFC GYM group exercise classes, such as muay thai, women’s self-defense and Daily Ultimate Training (DUT).
Outside of Hawaii, UFC GYM signature clubs are located in California, New York and Sydney, Australia. In January 2013, UFC GYM acquired LA Boxing®’s 81 locations, substantially growing UFC GYM’s reach across the U.S.
