Gold’s Gym International has officially promoted Aaron Watkins to president of the company. Watkins had been serving as interim president for the last few months, after former president Jim Snow, exited the company in late July 2013.
“Since taking over as interim president in July, Aaron has provided strong leadership and a steadying presence that has helped guide Gold’s Gym to one of its most productive periods in recent history,” said Brandon Bean, the chairman of Gold’s Gym, in a company e-mail. “Company performance is up across the board, key areas like franchising and licensing are more active than ever and, most importantly, Gold’s Gym is now better poised for significant future growth.
Watkins joined Gold’s Gym in 2006 as Vice President Controller. In 2011, he transitioned into the role of Chief Financial Officer of the company.
“Moving forward, Aaron will work with the executive team, our franchise leadership and our various strategic partners to lead and grow the Gold’s Gym brand,” said Bean in the e-mail. “This is an exciting time for Gold’s Gym, and we are confident that we will be stronger with Aaron at the helm.”
