Crunch’s newest franchise location has broken ground at The Waterfront in Homestead, Pa. At 20,000 square feet, The Waterfront location is set to open for workouts in March 2014.
An upscale shopping center, The Waterfront boasts a multitude of shops, restaurants and entertainment. This will be The Waterfront’s first fitness club.
“The Waterfront is a beautiful center,” said Ben Midgley, Crunch’s franchise president. “It’s kind of the premier center in that part of Pittsburgh. It’s probably going to be one of our premier locations when it’s all said and done.”
In addition, Crunch announced that the new location is the first of many Crunch locations expected to be built in the greater Pittsburgh area. Cornerstone Fitness, LLC has acquired the development rights for the area, and according to Crunch, plans to begin opening additional franchise locations in the near future.
“We’re in growth mode,” said Midgley. “We’re looking to get into as many states as we can, as fast as we can. We have a lot of ground to cover.”
Construction of The Waterfront location has already begun. In addition to traditional amenities, the facility will boast a group fitness studio and “Ride Studio” (indoor cycling), according to the location’s website.
