You would think after founding his first business at the age of 23, launching his first franchise brand (Retro Fitness) in 2004, founding two other businesses (Fierce Brands and Let’s Yo!) and making appearances on TV shows such as Undercover Boss and Bloomberg TV, Eric Casaburi would want to take it easy.
That is not the case. Instead he decided to write a book in order to share the lessons he has learned throughout all of these various business ventures.
After numerous friends, co-workers and other business professionals suggested he write a book, Casaburi decided to give it a try. “Inside the Retro Fitness franchise, I have the opportunity to deal directly with my franchisees and speak to them at our conventions and in small meetings, but writing a book is a great way to get a good amount of information out there,” said Casaburi.
“JUST MAKE MONEY: The Entrepreneur’s Handbook to Building the Life of Your Dreams,” serves as a guide for aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners looking to lead and grow their businesses. Casaburi shares his experiences with the Retro Fitness brand that others can learn from.
“There are a lot of key takeaways,” he explained. “We ask questions to get you thinking and your mind working in a different direction than maybe it was prior to picking up the book. The goal of the book is to give new and existing entrepreneurs ideas, things to do to take action, things you could do tomorrow and start making money off of.”
However, with numerous years of business experience, what is one of the most significant lessons Casaburi has learned? It would be that passion is essential, and success isn’t always monetary. According to Casaburi, true success is how happy and fulfilled you are.
“You have to be passionate about what you do because as an entrepreneur in any business, if you are not passionate, no matter how much money you make, eventually you will run out of enthusiasm,” added Casaburi. “I would always say to be passionate about what you do and how you do will be determined by that.”
Even with such a packed schedule, Casaburi shows no signs of slowing down. He plans to be involved in more speaking engagements and another TV show is in the pipeline, but Casaburi explained his number one priority will always be the Retro Fitness brand.
“We are continuing to grow Retro Fitness, so that is the primary, and everything else is a part-time job,” he said. “Retro Fitness is a full-time gig. We are growing the brand and for now I will balance doing that and fit other things in between.”
