Active Wellness, LLC, is working to make health and wellness more accessible than ever. The management company, which was founded as a subsidiary of Active Acquisition Partners in June 2015, operates the Active Sports Clubs, as well as more than 45 corporate, residential, medical and community fitness centers across the country.
Earlier this month the company announced a new partnership with St. Joseph Health (SJH) to develop new models for health, wellness and illness prevention in both the work and residential setting.
St. Joseph Health is a not-for-profit integrated Catholic health care delivery system sponsored by the St. Joseph Health Ministry. It operates 16 acute care hospitals, home health agencies, hospice care, outpatient services, nursing facilities, community clinics and physician organizations throughout California, Texas and New Mexico.
Active Wellness previously worked with SJH as a management partner for the Synergy Medical Fitness Center is Napa, California, for its hospital St. Joseph Health Queen of the Valley Wellness Center. According to Bill McBride, the president of Active Sports Clubs, during this time it became apparent Active Wellness and SJH would make great partners.
“Combining our complementary expertise in fitness and wellness with their renowned medical wellness expertise made for an extremely compelling partnership in developing groundbreaking new models that offer a lifestyle continuum,” said McBride. “Together we could positively affect whole communities through fitness, wellness, preventative treatments, clinical care, nutrition and lifestyle management.”
Through the partnership, both organizations will expand their services, offering more options for health and wellness to communities across the country. “The partnership will create new delivery models that are ultra convenient to where people engage a new approach to lifestyle enhancement and high-quality medicine, prevention, wellness, coaching and fitness programming.”
According to McBride, since they share a similar vision and work towards a complementary goal, the partnership will greatly benefit both organizations. “We now have an incredible partner with national acclaim in health care delivery,” he said. “Our partnership lends complementary expertise to each organization individually and reinforces our driving commitment to truly make a difference in how lifestyle, prevention and fitness enhancement can be delivered to entire communities.”
Congrats, Bill, on this forward thinking strategy. At the NAC (Newtown Athletic Club) we have a similar partnership with our area’s #1 regional hospital group, Aria Health. We are developing strong programs that are medically based to engage the members and the community so that over time we will have many portals, or entry ways, for people to access a healthier lifestyle, whether through programming or membership. This is a direction that will invigorate the future of our industry.
