What could be more liberating than getting to punch and kick away all of your aggression during a workout? Now an increasing number of people have the ability to do so through access to the thrilling workout programming provided by UFC Gym.
Last week, the fitness franchise announced plans to expand its international footprint into Canada. The first location north of the border in Sherwood Park, Alberta, will open in July.
“When one of our franchise partners expressed interest in bringing our concept to Canada, we knew it was the perfect opportunity,” said Hannibal Myers, the president of UFC Gym Franchise Company. “As a northern neighbor, our potential members in Canada share the same appetite and passion for fitness as our 100,000 plus members in the U.S.”
Since opening their first location in 2009, UFC Gym has grown to more than 120 locations throughout the U.S. According to Myers, the brands extreme success can be attributed to the unique and engaging programming that yields results.
“UFC Gym programming has been developed through exclusive access to training regimens from elite UFC athletes, providing members with everything they need for the entire family to sweat, move and live a healthier life,” said Myers. “Because our programming includes a variety of different levels, classes and workouts, our members remain more engaged and as a result they are able to achieve their fitness goals.”
This new location in Canada is only to tip of the iceberg when it comes to international expansion, which has always been part of the growth strategy at UFC Gym. The brand expects its presence in Canada to grow to 50 gyms in the next four to five years. UFC Gym also recently opened a location in Sydney, Australia, with a second location opening in Melbourne later this year.
“We’re also exploring other international franchise partner opportunities in Mexico City, Chile, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates,” added Myers. “In the U.S. we are committed to more than 100 future locations. We expect that our combined international and domestic growth will generate 800 to 1,000 UFC Gym openings in the next five years.”
