Redkore Fitness got its start in Atlanta after founder Nadeem Ashraf recognized a need for a results-based destination that relied upon sports diagnostic technology to identify its clients’ goals and needs.
The gym uses KORR Medical technology to measure each client’s anaerobic threshold (AT) for heart rate based training. According to Ashraf, each 60-minute, small group session has a unique balance of cardiovascular and strength training.
“Measuring individual AT allows our trainers to maintain a true balance of fat-burning zones and create customizable interval training that delivers results in a safe, injury free environment,” said Ashraf. “Redkore facilities also offer KORR Cycling and KORR Barre classes.”
Ashraf explained it’s important to provide as much fitness data as possible, so that better programs can be developed for members. He believes this is why Redkore Fitness has such great retention. “Since each participant can see their performance in real time and measure their results with consistent coaching from our experts, our retention is far above industry average,” he said. “Therefore there is less volatility on a month-to-month basis.”
For Redkore Fitness, KORR’s V02 max and sub-max testing have been integral to providing members with the fitness data they need to measure success. In addition, Ashraf takes an educational approach in all aspects of the gym, offering seminars and workshops to further inform members.
“It is very challenging to educate entry-level members and clients, however with ongoing education, seminars and workshops, it can be achieved,” said Ashraf. “Another challenge is that potential members don’t understand the training methodology until they try out a class.”
Despite these challenges, Ashraf believes the club is a great model. “Our vision is to become an industry leader in sports and fitness diagnostics destinations, while providing best-in-class heart rate based classes,” said Ashraf.
