BollyX, the Bollywood Workout, has steadily grown its U.S. presence over the last three years. From San Francisco to Boston, the Bollywood fitness format is in over 35 states and over 300 cities. This summer, BollyX was proud to debut in Canada.
BollyX is a Bollywood-inspired dance-fitness program that combines dynamic choreography with the hottest music from around the world. The 50-minute cardio workout cycles between higher and lower-intensity dance sequences to get participants moving, sweating and smiling all at the same time.
In April this year, BollyX was approached by Steve Nash Fitness Clubs in Vancouver, Canada, to partner and bring BollyX to their facilities. The club was looking to build some variety into their dance fitness programming and connected with the BollyX brand. The BollyX team jetsetted from New York to Vancouver to lead a week filled with demos to debut the format to gym members and fitness instructors alike. Co-Founder Shahil Patel then later flew out again to lead the first BollyX Instructor Certification in Canada. Since then, weekly classes have started in 11 Steve Nash Fitness Club locations and more instructors are joining the community as trainings get booked. BollyX will be back in Vancouver in September of this year to continue to expand the community and bring more awareness to the program.
BollyX was also a presenter at canfitpro world fitness expo this year. In August, BollyX continued its international expansion by being one of the few U.S. presenters at the largest Canadian fitness expo. The format was one of kind: it was in the minority by being a dance fitness format as well as the only Bollywood themed workout. The format was met with great enthusiasm, with many fitness professionals looking to learn more and train to become BollyX instructors so they could bring the workout back to their facilities.
“It’s been incredible to be welcomed into a new country with open arms and the same sense of community that we’ve had in the States,” said national community manager, Meredith Higgins. “It just proves that borders don’t matter when it comes to supporting each other in the health, fitness and wellness industry.”
Further international expansion plans include attending FIBO Global Fitness, the largest fitness convention in the world, in 2017 and expanding to more countries all over the globe. BollyX continues to train instructors and grow their community in a way that is wholly authentic to the brand and embraces the diversity of fitness enthusiasts worldwide.
