PLAE Launches PLAE Perform: Elite Training Strategies for Every Athlete

PLAE announced the launch of  PLAE Perform, a platform designed to transform gym environments and drive results for both members and operators. PLAE Perform integrates space design, coach development, and science-backed programming to create high-output, member-centered performance zones.

In a consumer landscape where differentiation is key, PLAE Perform provides a strategic solution that goes beyond simply equipment or programming; it helps operators unlock the true potential of their training space. Whether a high-volume gym, independent studio or premium fitness facility, PLAE Perform is engineered to maximize ROI per square foot while delivering tangible member outcomes.

“For two decades, PLAE has designed performance spaces for elite athletes. Now we’re making those same strategies accessible to everyone,” said Shane Gooneratne, the chief growth officer at PLAE. “PLAE Perform brings structure and intention to facilities, helping them achieve business goals while offering an elevated experience for their members.”

A Complete Performance System

PLAE Perform is built around three core elements that work together to create high-performance environments:

  1. Space Optimization and Equipment – PLAE’s expert design team collaborates with operators to create optimized layouts that increase throughput, efficiency, and member engagement.
  2. Coach Development – Facilities benefit from PLAE’s coaching education, equipping trainers with the tools to lead performance-driven sessions with consistency and confidence.
  3. Science-Backed Programming – Progression-based training programs designed for every level, from beginners to advanced athletes, ensuring continual growth and results.

“Gyms aren’t lacking space—they’re lacking strategic use of it,” said Alex Derenthal, the director of human performance at PLAE. “PLAE Perform is about designing spaces to eliminate friction and support members in their pursuit of real results.”

Driving ROI with Measurable Results

Since its early launch, PLAE Perform has already delivered positive results at fitness facilities, including increased session throughput and revenue per square foot. At FITNESS 2020 in Atlanta, operators have seen significant member upgrades to premium membership tiers, with notable improvements in session attendance and member retention.

“We’re creating training environments that do more than just look good—they work harder, engage members better, and grow revenue,” said Gooneratne.

Built for Outcomes, Designed for Everyone

Unlike one-size-fits-all programs, PLAE Perform is tailored for a wide array of goals, offering customizable pathways for every type of member. Whether users are pursuing foundational strength, athletic performance, or overall longevity, the platform delivers an experience that’s as adaptable as those who use it.

“This system isn’t about chasing trends—it’s about delivering outcomes for anyone, whether you’re 20 or 60, regardless of fitness level,” added Derenthal. “We believe everyone deserves to train with purpose and see real progress.”

A Scalable Solution for Modern Fitness

PLAE Perform scales for facilities of all types and sizes. Facilities can choose full integration of design, programming and coaching, or opt for customized elements that complement their existing framework.

“We’re not here to dictate what operators should do — we’re here to help them achieve their vision,” Gooneratne explained. “Every partnership is about co-creating spaces that elevate what’s possible for their members.”
