As a gym owner, there are likely two things you’d love to accomplish. The first is to increase revenue. The second is to increase member satisfaction.

4:13 Fitness Center in Imperial, California, has accomplished both those goals through Virtuagym. The software allows clubs to offer personal workout plans, nutrition tracking, 3,000-plus 3D animated exercises and group challenges. Here, Terry Robertson, the owner of 4:13 Fitness Center, shares more about Virtuagym’s benefits.

CS: How were you introduced to Virtuagym and why did you decide to partner with them?

TR: We were looking for software to help us increase revenue and member satisfaction. We needed something that gave us an easier way to connect with clients in and out of the gym that would also give them a workable, visual representation of their progress. We were unsatisfied with the developer we were working with as they kept pushing back deadlines, so we realized we needed a company that already had a working model and a good reputation. We needed something with proven results. After online research, we came across Virtuagym. We liked the reviews and the model, so we decided to give it a try.

fb_img_1480033415980CS:  In what ways do you use Virtuagym to your club’s benefit?

TR: We use the app primarily right now for coaching clients. Like I said, it gives clients a visual of their progress. The charts and graphs help them see where they are improving and where they need to improve. The food app really allows them to get the whole health and fitness package. There are so many great features it offers and members are responding to it well. Many of them have seen real progress, and it’s a great way to keep them motivated and coming back to our gym. Via the app we can provide workouts to clients, and we use the groups to promote new classes and events.

CS: What are the benefits to your members?

TR: Are you kidding? The benefits are awesome! Our members get everything our gym has to offer right at the palms of their hands: nutrition advice, consistency, customized workouts, a great group message board. There are too many benefits to name. A lot of times clients will be very pro-fitness while they’re at the gym, but they might not carry that attitude with them once they walk out the doors. With the apps, it’s always on their mind. They have the tools now to think about and actively practice good health and fitness wherever they are. If they have to go out of town, or something happens and they can’t make the gym one week, it doesn’t automatically mean it’s a “wasted” week for their fitness plan. They can reach out to us and get help for an at-home workout plan, and they can still practice good nutrition habits.

CS: Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with Virtuagym in any way?

TR: As a gym, yes. Virtuagym has outstanding customer support. They are quick to get back to you and their agents really personalize their service. They take the time to get to know the issues affecting your gym directly, instead of giving one of those one-size-fits-all solutions that may not fit your needs specifically. The transition has been very smooth. Their team is the best and they’ve really done a lot to make this easier on us, so we can focus on running our business. They think with us to tackle problems when they come up and are always quick to respond.

CS: What else can you tell club operators about the benefits of working with Virtuagym?

TR: The app has a ton of potential, and it is a great investment for gyms that are looking to offer their members a bang for their buck. It makes communication with clients a lot easier because you get the whole picture of where someone is in their fitness journey. You can see and identify weaknesses and strengths to help you personalize your client interaction, which leads to more results and happier clients. We’ve found that because the clients can take ownership of their health and fitness, they are more likely to keep coming back.
