An Innovative Partnership Between Les Mills and Chuze Fitness

For Chuze Fitness, creating exceptional member experiences goes beyond great equipment and friendly service — it’s about offering consistently high-quality programming that keeps people coming back. When the brand expanded into the competitive Colorado market in 2016, they knew they needed something that would elevate their group fitness offering and set them apart.

That’s when they turned to Les Mills.

Below, Diana Gilbert, the senior director of fitness at Chuze Fitness, shares how the partnership with Les Mills has helped fuel growth across 50 locations, enhanced instructor development and delivered the kind of group fitness experience that keeps members motivated and engaged. From BODYPUMP to innovative new formats, Gilbert explains why Les Mills has become a foundational part of Chuze’s success story.

Why did you decide to partner with Les Mills? What problem were you looking to solve or what solution were you looking to incorporate? 

We partnered with Les Mills in 2016 as we entered the competitive Colorado fitness market. Our goal was to complement our freestyle programming, diversify our format offerings and launch something fresh for our brand.  

One of our owners is an avid BODYPUMP fan and encouraged us to take a closer look at Les Mills. Once we explored their science-backed programs and globally recognized brand, the decision was easy. We started with BODYPUMP, and it was an instant hit with our members. They loved the strength-based, barbell-style format and instructors were excited to get involved, especially with our studios outfitted in Les Mills Smart Tech equipment. 

The performance-driven design of the classes and the equipment allowed us to deliver smooth, dynamic group fitness experiences that matched our member-first philosophy. Les Mills was truly foundational in establishing our presence in Colorado and elevating our group fitness game from day one. Today, we proudly offer a wide range of Les Mills Signature and Innovation Collection programs across our locations, including BODYPUMP, BODYCOMBAT, CORE, RPM, BODYATTACK, STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT, Pilates and more. 

How have they helped enhance your offerings? 

Les Mills brings consistency and polish to our lineup, something members really value. Their programming structure helps build member confidence, and once they’re comfortable with a class like BODYPUMP or BODYCOMBAT, they’re more likely to branch out into other modalities. 

At Chuze, the variety of Les Mills formats we offer significantly enhances our fitness offerings and internal development pathways. Les Mills provides a clear bridge for our freestyle group fitness instructors and personal trainers, allowing them to take on branded formats and grow within our company and with their professional fitness toolbox.  

We actively strive to mentor our single-format instructors and trainers to become multi-format fitness professionals, and Les Mills training makes this goal more accessible. The training’s affordability and quick certification turnaround also enable our fit pros to get on our timetable more quickly. 

What do your members like about Les Mills? 

First, the name alone builds trust. Members can count on quality workouts. Before the class even begins, instructors build excitement for what’s to come, and the consistency of the workouts gives them confidence in what to expect, whether they’re new or seasoned.  

We also hear a lot about energy. The music, the movements and the coaching style all come together to create a full experience. Members leave class feeling strong, successful and excited to come back. 

How would you describe Les Mills’ customer service? 

We’ve been really fortunate to work with some incredible customer experience managers over the years. Their support is personal, proactive and always aligned with our needs. 

They don’t just check boxes; they build real relationships. We value that at Chuze, and it provides rich soil for growth. We are supported in a wide variety of ways — from instructor training, recruiting and ongoing education to leadership development for our management teams, in-club events and campaign support. They’ve backed us in big ways and helped us grow. We feel like true partners. 

What else can you tell other club owners about the benefits of working with Les Mills? 

At Chuze, we pride ourselves on offering standout service to both our members and our teams. What we’ve really appreciated about Les Mills is that they’ve supported that mission without trying to change who we are. They’ve embraced our unique approach to fitness and given us the freedom to be fluid in how we blend their formats with our own. 

It’s not a one-size-fits-all partnership. They recognize the value we bring to our communities, and they add value in a way that strengthens what we’ve already built. Les Mills respects our vision and brings something powerful to the table.
