Offering a new Group X class can offer a boost of excitement to your gym, especially for those members who love group exercise classes. Recently, the Campanelli YMCA ramped up excitement in its club thanks to a partnership with BollyX — The Bollywood Workout.
Here, Lisa Ayeski, the wellness coordinator of the Campanelli Branch YMCA, shared what members love about the Bollywood-inspired group class.
CS: How were you introduced to BollyX and why did you decide to partner with them?
LA: I was personally introduced to BollyX via Facebook. I had seen posts and videos and really liked the format. After friending Meredith, a BollyX regional trainer and global community manager, on Facebook I was hooked. Her energy was infectious. I investigated the BollyX website and completed the Host Form and they contacted me right away. They were so easy to work with and the idea they offer a class that’s open to members during the instructor training, really ramped up the excitement for the program.
CS: What are the benefits to your business?
LA: Members are seeking out the BollyX program. We are retaining members because not only do they love the instructors, but they love the fact that each instructor can teach in their style, music etc. The instructors really keep it fresh, always changing up music.
CS: What are the benefits to your members?
LA: Members have a great time during the BollyX program. They look forward to the classes and they feel motivated. It is a community and members are becoming friends and meeting for class. They are feeling successful at the end of class, the movements are fun and easy to learn.
CS: Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with BollyX in any way?
LA: I love the ease of working with not only the corporate office, but the instructors are extremely passionate and help each other out. The members love LaTanya Schwalb and Dani Dubose. We are excited to recruit new instructors in the future.
CS: What else can you tell club owners about the benefits of offering BollyX?
LA: Don’t hesitate to add this program to your schedule. It appeals to a wide range of fitness levels and abilities. Anyone can do it. It has been one of the easiest programs to run, it really runs itself. From a business standpoint, you can’t ask for more.

Glad to see U still very busy. This program looks very good. I still focus on soft exercises, qi gong and tai chi. This is better for folks in their 50’s – 90’s and beyond.
