PF Growth Partners, LLC (PFGP), a franchise division of Planet Fitness, has promoted Justin S. Drummond to chief operating officer.
Drummond is PFGP’s longest tenured employee, joining the company in 2010 as general manager of the Planet Fitness club in Catonsville, Maryland. He has since served in roles including regional general manager and interim COO from March to December 2019.
“Justin was the second employee we hired at PFGP in 2010,” said Victor Brick, the co-owner of PFGP, in a statement. “I am extremely proud to see him advance with the company and now lead our team.”
As COO, Drummond will oversee operations for the entire company, which boasts 66 Planet Fitness clubs in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Tennessee, Florida and Washington state. PFGP will soon be expanding to California and Australia.
“I am delighted to have been on a growth journey that has run parallel to that of Planet Fitness and PFGP,” said Drummond, in a statement. “Starting with the company at club No. 5 and seeing us now almost to 70 locations across the U.S. and soon expanding internationally is remarkable. I look forward to leading the business into the triple-digit club count, developing world-class staff and supporting our members and employees through servant leadership principles.”
PFGP is the largest privately-owned group in the Planet Fitness franchisee system.
In November 2019, the franchise group announced it would be expanding to Australia as a partner in the franchise group Bravo Fit Holdings.
“The Australian fitness market is a very sophisticated market,” Victor Brick told Club Solutions Magazine. “However, there is no Judgement Free model in Australia — meaning, there really is no model that caters to the other 85 percent of the population who historically has not felt welcome, comfortable or catered to in a traditional health club. We see it as an opportunity to change people’s lives across an entire country by bringing them a Judgement Free concept — something for everybody.”
