Frank Trulaske, CEO of TRUE Fitness Technology, Inc. (TRUE), a global provider of premium fitness equipment, announced TRUE has acquired Octane Fitness (Octane) from Nautilus, Inc.
Octane, a leader in elliptical design, was founded in 2001 and has been dedicated to manufacturing premier, low-impact cardio products, serving both the residential and commercial markets.
“The Octane brand is recognized for delivering superior products and service,” said Trulaske. “Octane’s history is based on a passion for fitness and innovation. We believe this aligns with TRUE’s own 40 years of expertise and dedication to superior products, dealers and end users. The addition of the Octane product line will further strengthen TRUE’s product offerings. The combination of products will allow us to serve the full spectrum of markets residentially, commercially and internationally.”
“Acquiring Octane strengthens our growing leadership position in the industry and expands our growing portfolio,” continued Trulaske. “Together, we can leverage our expertise and history with their innovative products. Octane customers, current and future, can look forward to TRUE’s commitment to the customer-first approach that has been our hallmark since 1981.”
TRUE Fitness Technology will continue to be privately-held and operations will remain in St. Louis.
“We are excited for the opportunity to provide our customers an expanded catalog of specialized products and accelerate our own growth initiatives,” said Mike Kelly, the vice president of TRUE Sales. Octane’s and TRUE’s distribution channels have historically differed from each other, so the TRUE– Octane combination will offer new opportunities for both TRUE and our comprehensive dealer network. In addition, we’re excited to expand the TRUE team with talent from Octane.”
