Below, Thomas explains why Amped Fitness made the switch over a year ago, the benefits his team has seen for both staff and members, and what has surprised him most about the relationship.
Why did you decide to partner with Player’s Health? What problem were you looking to solve?
With previous providers, I felt like prices kept creeping up and they weren’t really prepared to handle what we needed. Player’s Health came in with competitive pricing but more importantly they took the time to really connect with me. Their vice president even came out and met me personally at my office, which made it clear they wanted to build a relationship and not just write a policy. This level of engagement was the deciding factor.
What are the benefits to your business as a result of this partnership?
Beyond the cost savings, they’ve made the whole insurance side of things much easier. From claims to risk management and compliance — it all feels more straightforward now. They’ve also offered staff training and risk assessment tools, which shows they’re invested in helping us run safer, smarter operations — not just covering us when something goes wrong.

Our members benefit because everything we do to make our clubs safer and better protected directly impacts them.
Have you been pleasantly surprised by working with Player’s Health in any way?
Definitely. What’s impressed me most is how responsive they’ve been. Any time I’ve had a question, they’ve been quick to get back to me with real answers — not just a runaround. And the fact that they’re willing to visit my offices and see things firsthand isn’t something you see with most providers. They’ve shown they’re serious about the relationship, not just the contract.
What else can you tell other club owners about the benefits of working with Player’s Health?
I’d tell other owners the biggest wins are cost and relationship. Insurance is usually one of those “necessary evil” expenses, but Player’s Health has made it feel like a partnership that adds value.
